【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesthemethodstobeemployedfordeterminationofsizedistributionsbysievingofironore,utilizingsieveshavingaperturesizesof36μmorlarger.Thesizedistributionistobeexpressedintermsofmassandpercentagemass,passedorretainedonselectedsieves.ThepurposeofthisInternationalStandardistoprovideabasisforanytestingofironoreinvolvingsizedeterminationandforusebycontractingpartiesinthesaleandpurchaseofthismaterial.WhenthisInternationalStandardisusedforcomparativepurposes,agreementshouldbereachedbetweentheconcernedpartiesonselectionofthedetailedmethodtobeemployedinordertoeliminatesourcesofsubsequentcontroversy.

【摘要】:Thetestmethodisusedtoestimatethepermanganatenaturaloxidantdemandexertedbythesoiloraquifersolidsbydeterminingthequantityofpotassiumpermanganatethatisconsumedbynaturallyoccurringspeciesasafunctionoftime.TypicallythemeasurementofPNODisusedtoscreenpotentialsitesforinsituchemicaloxidation(ISCO)withpermanganate(TestMethodA)andprovideinformationtoaidinthedesignofremediationsystems(TestMethodB).Whilesomeoxidizablespeciesreactrelativelyquickly(thatis,daystoweeks),othersreactmoreslower(weekstomonths).Consequently,thePNODtisexpectedtobesomefractionofthePNODmax.Duetomasstransportrelatedissuesatthefield-scaleitisreasonabletoassumethatthePNODtmeasuredusingthetestmethodmayoverestimatethedemandexertedduringISCOapplications.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultproducedbythisstandardisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/andsoforth.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheestimationofthepermanganatenaturaloxidantdemand(PNOD)throughthedeterminationofthequantityofpotassiumpermanganate(KMnO4)thatorganicmatterandothernaturallyoccurringoxidizablespeciespresentinsoiloraquifersolidswillconsumeunderspecifiedconditionsasafunctionoftime.Oxidizablespeciesmayincludeorganicconstituentsandoxidizableinorganicions,suchasferrousironandsulfides.Thefollowingtestmethodsareincluded:TestMethodA48-hourPermanganateNaturalOxidantDemandTestMethodBPermanganateNaturalOxidantDemandKinetics1.2Thistestmethodislimitedbythereagentsemployedtoapermanganatenaturaloxidantdemand(PNOD)of60gKMnO4perkgsoiloraquifersolidsafteraperiodof48hours(MethodA)ortwoweeks(MethodB).1.3AllobservedandcalculatedvaluesshallconformtotheguidelinesforsignificantdigitsandroundingestablishedinPracticeD6026.1.4Units8212;ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttointerprettheresultsofthedata.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtointerprettheresultsobtainedandtodeterminetheapplicabilityoftheseresultspriortouse.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
